Now Valerie, consider yourself lucky because I’m about to answer a political question, something I very rarely do on this blog.
First, I wouldn’t realllllly classify myself as a Republican as I am a Libertarian, but let me answer your question.
No, I don’t. There are tons of young republicans. The problem is that they’re embarrassed to say so. It sucks, it really does because a lot of the young republicans I know are awesome people. You see the problem with about 90% of liberals is, that when you disagree with them, they are too quick to judge you and call you racist, fascist and ignorant, and that’s simply not the case.
I share some ideals that the left shares, but I modify them a bit. I feel women should have the option to have an abortion, but I don’t feel like I have to pay for it. That’s just an example. Any time government wants to take over private industry and tax me for it, that’s where I have a problem.
Most young kids are brainwashed into liberal thinking because 99% of their favorite actors and musicians are liberals. Do you know that there is a secret organization of hollywood actors, directors and producers who are republican and meet in secret because if they were found to be, they’d likely be lambasted?
Believe in what you believe regardless of what other people think. If you are proud of you beliefs as I am, then there’s nothing wrong and you should never feel bad for who you are.
